Flamini is out but Wilshere should return.
Ahead of the highly anticipated League Cup clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, Arsene Wenger has revealed who will be available and who will miss out.
Although the Gunners have been in superb form this season, they have struggled with fitness problems and there will be a few absentees from the match at the Emirates Stadium.
One who will be missing is Mathieu Flamini, after the midfielder was taken off early in the game against Crystal Palace at the weekend with a groin injury.
“He has a scan today and then we will get the results as to how long he will be out,” Wenger told the club’s website.
“It doesn’t look like a bad muscle injury but honestly it’s too early to give you a precise answer.”
Another who may be forced to sit out the match is promising youngster Serge Gnabry, who is almost certain of a place if fit.
The 18-year-old has impressed in the games the German has played this term and has just signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates.
“Serge Gnabry has a problem, he got a kick on the ankle. He will be assessed tomorrow. After that we will decide who plays and who doesn’t play,” the 64-year-old continued.
Yet there is some good news for the north London side, as Jack Wilshere could feature in the match after missing the tie at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
“Yes, he is OK to play,” Wenger concluded.
