West Coast midfielder Scott Selwood is expected to be rushed back to play his first game in three months as the Eagles face the Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Sunday.
The 24-year-old has not played since undergoing ankle surgery following West Coast’s loss to Hawthorn back in Round 12.
Fairfax Media report Selwood trained strongly over the past fortnight and looks set to be included alongside Nic Naitanui (Achilles), Xavier Ellis (AC joint) and Elliot Yeo (broken hand), who will all undergo fitness tests before the team leaves for the Gold Coast.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson said he expected the 2012 club champion to play on Sunday.
“He did a really big session on Saturday,” Simpson told Channel 7 last night.
“It was a game simulation and I’d expect him to be available.”
Selwood’s inclusion would go along way in the Eagles getting on top of Gold Coast’s talented midfield, particularly with tagger Mark Hutchings ruled out of the clash with a hamstring strain.
