Ex-Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has been offered to West Ham United on a free transfer but the Hammers’ boss Sam Allardyce is not keen to pay the Cameroon star’s £100,000 per week wages, reports the Daily Mail.
It is no secret that Eto’o prefers to stay in London, and with the likes of QPR and Arsenal baulking at his wage demands, he has now turned to West Ham to give him another lifeline in the Premier League. The 33-year old’s demands could be too high for a club like the Hammers, who are now believed to be eyeing 22-year old Arsenal forward Joel Campbell.
Allardyce could propose a loan deal for the Costa Rican as he wants a backup for his injured striker Andy Carroll, but it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will oblige. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hinted at giving Joel Campbell an opportunity at the Emirates after sending him out on 3 loan spells since signing him in 2011, and thus might want to use his services this season.
