Liverpool ace set to return to former club
Former West Ham favourite Joe Cole is set to complete his move to Liverpool by Friday, according to BBC Sport.
The 31 year old, who has had a tough spell at Liverpool marred by injuries, will undergo a medical. It has been suggested that the contract will only be an 18 month deal.
The former England international started his career at the Hammers, scoring thirteen goals in 150 appearances. His impressive displays earned him a big money move to London rivals Chelsea at the start of the Abramovich era. Cole recently completed a loan spell at French side Lille, scoring four goals in the process.
Any deal completed must be a permanent deal, as League rules prevent the East London side from having two loanees from the same club. Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is currently at West Ham on a temporary basis.
If the midfielder is registered by Friday, he will be eligible to face Manchester United at Upton Park for the FA Cup third round.
