Premier League club West Ham have signed Croatian striker Mladen Petric until the end of the season after the international parted ways with London neighbours Fulham.
The signing comes on the same day the East London club confirmed that £15m summer signing Andy Carroll had picked up a fresh injury. Some reports have suggested a foot complaint could keep the former Liverpool striker out until next year.
Petric, 32, has scored 13 goals in 45 matches for Croatia and also played in Switzerland and the Bundesliga where he enjoyed success at Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg.
Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has turned to the veteran to boost his attack with only Modibo Maiga and Ricardo Vaz fit, and Carroll yet to feature this term after initially suffering a heel injury.
The Upton Park outfit have enjoyed a solid start to their season and lie eighth in the table with four points from three games.
