Top-flight rivals set to battle it out for Ivorian’s signature.
West Ham United have joined Swansea City in the race to sign prolific Vitesse Arnhem front man Wilfried Bony this summer, according to reports in the Metro.
It had been thought that the in-demand Ivory Coast international was heading for South Wales when the transfer window reopened for business on July 1, however, it now appears as though there is a genuine two-horse race for the deadly marksman, with the Hammers also reportedly said to be keen on the player.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a sensational season in front of goal for his Eredivisie outfit last time out, finding the back of the net on 37 occasions in only 36 matches in all competitions, and now Bony is understood to want to test himself out in the Premier League.
And with both top-flight rivals having had bids of £10.2 million accepted for the forward, it will now be up to the player himself to decide exactly which team he wants to join this summer.
