The midfielder, 20, impressed earlier this season but has started just once in 2014 and there were reports he was unsettled in January after Fulham had a £4m rejected by the Hammers.
Morrison has been battling a calf problem, while his chances of first team action have also been hampered by Kevin Nolan’s return to form.
Championship high-flyers QPR boast a hugely talented squad but winger Matt Philips is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a leg injury in the 3-3 draw with Burnley.
“It looks like a long-term injury,” Rangers manager Harry Redknapp told the club website.
“We hope that we can get him back before the end of the season, but it’s a serious one.”
