Premier League Champions to visit Japan and China
Wanderers will embark on a 13 day tour, playing two games in Japan and one in China.
The first stop on the “Wandertour” is Shizuoka and a match against star midfielder Shinji Ono’s former side Shimizu S-Pulse.
Tony Popovic’s side will then travel to China to lock horns with Sven Goran Eriksson’s Guangzhou R&F, in between a 6 day training camp.
The final match of the tour will take them back to Japan, where they will face Tokydo Verdy.
The J2 side recently dispatched Malaysia 5-0 and will provide tough opposition for Wanderers.
in their first ever professional season Wanderers won the Premier League and got the to the A-League Grand Final.
They achieved that remarkable feat despite not having a full squad until just days before the season.
This time around Popovic’s men are much more prepared and are well on the way to completing pre-season.
The first match of the A-League season sees Wanderers take on Central Coast Mariners in a repeat of the Grand Final.
