Keith Lulia will miss the rest of the season after scans revealed a small vertebrae fracture in his neck.
Wests Tigers utility Keith Lulia will miss the rest of the NRL season after breaking his neck.
Lulia suffered the injury during the Tigers’ humiliating 64-6 loss to North Queensland in Townsville two weeks ago and missed Saturday’s 48-4 loss to the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval.
The Tigers confirmed the extent of the injury late Monday.
“Outside back Keith Lulia will miss the reminder of the season after scans revealed a small vertebrae fracture in his neck,” a club statement read.
“Lulia suffered the injury in the Round 22 loss to North Queensland, resulting in his late withdrawal from Saturday’s match against the Roosters.
“After consulting with a specialist, Lulia received an estimated recovery time of eight to 12 weeks.”
It adds to the already significant injury toll at the Tigers, who will once again miss out on finals football.
Dene Halatau is in doubt for Thursday’s round 24 clash with Caterbury with a hamstring complaint, while Aaron Woods is also in doubt after he suffered a knock to the knee.
