Reports in the Daily Express suggest that the Dutch international is available for as little as £3m in the New Year, due to the fact that his contract with current club Schalke expires at the end of the season.
Huntelaar was the subject of a failed bid from Arsenal during the summer transfer window, but the 31-year-old is now ready for a stint in the Premier League after spells in Spain and Italy with Real Madrid and AC Milan respectively.
The source adds that Turkish outfit Galatasaray have also been tipped to make a move for Huntelaar in the upcoming transfer window, but the forward has already expressed a desire to ply his trade in England.
Speaking last month he said: “It’s a nice league and you never know what could happen. My mind is now on Schalke. I have a contract until the end of the season, maybe we’re going to talk someday.”
