It seems slightly bizarre that after all the hype surrounding Baines in recent years, now the Toffees man is the preferred choice at left-back that praise has gone a little quiet.

Ashley Cole has been largely absent at Chelsea and whilst Luke Shaw has undoubtedly been impressive at Southampton, four goals, two assists and 11 clean-sheets is a great record for the man at Goodison Park.
