United dealt blow in pursuit of top target.
Manchester United look set to struggle to persuade Atletico Madrid to sell star player Diego Godin, in a move that could see them miss out on one of their top centre-back targets, reports Fichajes.net.

While this will come as something of a blow for the Red Devils as they look to improve their defence, it looks like the big-spending Louis van Gaal will surely just turn his attention back to Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, who has also long been linked with the club.
The German international would probably be more expensive than Godin, with recent reports suggesting he could command a fee of around £47m, while Godin was rumoured to be available for closer to £28m.
Arsenal are also chasing Hummels, but will surely now miss out on the player as United will more than likely make him their top target and get ready to pay the big money required to beat other top clubs to his signature.
