Wide receiver Steve Smith publicly revealed that he wants revenge on the Carolina Panthers for releasing him in Week 4, which is when the the Panthers are scheduled to play the Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith was released by the Carolina Panthers after the 2013 season following 13 seasons with them.
He was subsequently signed to a three-year contract by the Ravens, and he has gotten off to a fast start in Baltimore with seven catches, 118 yards and a touchdown in the season opener.
The Panthers are scheduled to play the Ravens in Week 4, and the outspoken wide receiver had some choice words for his former team. “Hey, if you (expletive) think I can play, you’re gonna find out in Week 4, (expletive)!” Smith declared in an interview with Black and Blue Review, a website for Carolina Panthers news.
Smith has been a consistent receiver throughout his career, finishing with at least 1,000 receiving yards in seven of his seasons. However, his play dropped off in his final season with the Panthers as he finished with just 745 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
A change of scenery appears to have rejuvenated Smith though, and facing off against the Panthers will undoubtedly motivate him, judging by his brash comments.
