Star prop to be charged on Tuesday for Super Cup Final punch.
Wigan prop Ben Flower has been told that he faces a potential eight-match ban from the Rugby Football League after they charged him with a Category F offence for his punch on St Helens’ Lance Hohaia, according to the Guardian.

But Hohaia, who was knocked out by one punch from Flower and then hit by another when he lay on the ground, is also facing disciplinary punishment after being charged with the much less serious Grade B offence of striking the Welshman with his forearm to provoke his violent reaction.
Hohaia now faces a two match ban should he be found guilty, which he could serve out during the pre-season phase next year as he could take up an option of pleading guilty early, thus reducing the ban to just one game.
Flower, though, does not have that option having been charged with “violent and aggressive punching” and “punching an off-guard opponent”.
He will now appear at an independent disciplinary tribunal in Leeds on Tuesday, when the panel will be able to use their discretion in deciding the length of any ban.
