Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Has only just returned from injury and is generally regarded as a right winger – although had great success in central midfield against Crystal Palace recently and scored two goals.
Oxlade-Chamberlain doesn’t possess the same experience and awareness in the position as Wilshere though and is more of a useful last resort than great alternative.
Aaron Ramsey
The sooner the team can get this brilliant Welshman back the better, with Ramsey having not only scored a bagful of goals this term, but also doing more defensively than people realise.
The 23-year-old is a true box-to-box midfielder and has won 56 tackles this season – more than any other central midfielder at the club – despite having not played in 2014 due to injury, as well as having played more key passes and created more chances than anyone else on this list.
