William Gallas’ search for a new club could be over after he received an offer to sign for A-League club Melbourne Victory.

It comes on the same day that Gallas was linked with a return to London with Championship side QPR – having previously represented three clubs from England’s capital during his career – and a reunion with former boss Harry Redknapp.
The 36-year-old joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2001 and went on to become a mainstay during his five-year spell at Stamford Bridge before switching to Arsenal as part of the transfer that took Ashley Cole to the Blues.
After four seasons with the Gunners he crossed the prickly north London divide to join Spurs in 2010, where he stayed until his contract expired in June.
