The best RB in college football will be taking his talents to the NFL in 2015.
Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon said on the Dan Patrick Show that he’s leaving school after this season to enter the 2015 NFL draft.
The Heisman trophy finalist has had one of the best rushing seasons in college football history, with 309 carries for 2,336 yards (4th most in FBS history) and 26 touchdowns (tied for 16th in FBS history). On November 15th against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Gordon broke the FBS record for rushing yards in a game with 408 rushing yards – breaking the mark held by TCU RB LaDanian Tomlinson set in 1999. However, Gordon’s record would only last a week after Samaje Perine of Oklahoma broke it with 427 yards only seven days later.
Gordon is viewed as one of the top RB prospects in the 2015 NFL draft along with Georgia RB Todd Gurley. Among the teams that could be looking for a RB early in 2015 are the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers.
