Young German star keen to make Premier League switch.
Arsenal are said to be weighing up a move for young Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Maximilian Arnold after tracking him for the majority of last season, according to the Metro.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a fine breakthrough campaign with the German side last season and has already spoken of his ‘dream’ to play for a club like Arsenal or Juventus, though he doesn’t yet seem to be in a rush to leave his homeland.
“Of course the likes of Juventus and Arsenal are clubs you dream about as a child. But I am on just 36 Bundesliga appearances. If I was on 150, then it might be different. I am a player of Wolfsburg and I am happy to be a part of this team,” he said.
Maximilian became a first team regular with Wolfsburg last season, bagging himself seven goals and two assists over 28 games, and caught the Gunners eye back in February while he was still a teenager.
His performances over the previous campaign have earned him comparisons to current Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.
It still remains to be see whether the north London side will make a move for the player this summer, but with just a year remaining on his current deal Wenger may be able to snap him up for a cut price fee.
