Wolfsburg could be set to make a £16m bid for unsettled Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, according to Fichajes.com.
The Spaniard has not been at his best since moving to Chelsea from Liverpool in a £50m transfer back in 2011, and seems likely to make way this summer as the Blues reportedly target a £40m move for Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani.
Diego Costa and Didier Drogba have also come in upfront, leaving Torres down in the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s side, with the Portuguese coach keen to improve on his attacking options after allowing Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba to leave.
Wolfsburg signed Kevin De Bruyne from Chelsea in January and could now be set to raid the London giants again as they look to improve their options upfront, having missed out on their former player Mario Mandzukic earlier this summer.
Torres has also been linked with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan this summer, but may now be the subject of interest from Germany if the club match Chelsea’s asking price for the player.
