Premier League newcomers AFC Bournemouth are expected to hold transfer talks with English wonderkid Mason Holgate this week, according to reports.
The 18-year-old Barnsley defender has impressed in his 20 appearances for the League One side and reportedly has interest from Premier League big guns Manchester United and Arsenal.
Holgate is understood to trained with Manchester United during the off-season, however, The Daily Mail reports Holgate is set to make a £1m move to the Cherries.
Everton and Newcastle United are also both reportedly keen on the young defender, however Holgate is likely to see increased first-team action with the newly-promoted club.
Eddie Howe’s side went down 1-0 in its season opener against Aston Villa and face a tough battle to remain in the Premier League despite its plucky performance at Dean Court on Saturday.
Bournemouth face Premier League giants Liverpool and Anfield next Tuesday and will be hoping to have Holgate in its squad to face the Reds.
