The full-back caught the attention of Tottenham after a fantastic World Cup display, but he was allowed to stay at MLS side Seattle Sounders after Spurs secured his signature over the summer.
Although Yedlin was expected to stay in the MLS until next summer, the North London club look intent on bringing him to White Hart Lane in January after struggling in the right-back department this season.
The 21-year-old is not expecting to slot straight into the starting XI, and knows he is likely to be battling with first choice right-back Kyle Walker; who has recently returned to training.
“It’s going to take me time to adjust,” he said.
“I’m not expecting to go in right away first day and start. So if I’m playing, there’s no reason to take me out of that environment.”
