Many predicted Spurs would struggle after the world record £85.3m sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and to compensate for this they spent big on new talent.
The club record transfer fee was broken three times last summer and £26m went to Valencia for Soldado, who has managed six league goals since (of which just two were from open play).
