The Lunatic Fringe, who forced Barrett into the Intercontinental Championship match by tying his hands down and forcing him to sign a title match contract, easily took control of the match, taking everything Barrett could dish out and dishing it back twice as hard.
But Wade Barrett, fearful of losing his title, started making a break for the exit with his title belt. Ambrose would have none of it though, assaulting Barrett outside the ring and forcing him back in o multiple occasions. With Barrett in the corner though, Ambrose lost control and started stomping him in the corner beyond the referee’s five-count, prompting the disqualification and letting Barrett retain the title.
Furious with his loss, Ambrose simply grabbed the Intercontinental title and stormed out of the ring with it, leaving Barrett bewildered in the middle of the ring but unwilling to pursue Ambrose to get it back.
As for the Divas Championship Match, Nikki Bella was able to retain her title thanks to a timely grab of the tights on Paige after a rollup, though the referee didn’t see the illegal pin maneuver, allowing Bella to retain her title.
