It feels like forever since we’ve seen the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That’s probably because it pretty much has been: Night of Champions back on September 21, 2014, or four months and four days to be exact. While WWE is deliberately and unfairly building up massive hype for the pay-per-view events Lesnar actually wrestles in by teasing fans with his dominance, it’s working. Lesnar is the most dominant wrestler in the ring perhaps that the WWE has ever seen. His manager, Paul Heyman, works the microphone better than anyone since Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. But most of all, Lesnar is the only wrestler in a decade to have completely and utterly dominated the seemingly-invincible John Cena, fair and square in a WWE title match.
Everyone who knows anything about Lesnar knows that he won’t stick around in WWE for long – he is always hungry for more than what WWE will give him, but for now, every chance to see that athlete go into the ring and dominant everyone within Suplexing distance is worth paying every time to see.
Here are the matches for the 2015 Royal Rumble:
1. The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs. Cesaro, Tyson Kidd and Adam Rose, Six-Man Tag Team Elimination Match
Not exactly a great way to get people going with six of the WWE’s most under-utilized stars going at it in one of the most exciting tag-team match types there is. It seems like almost a waste to use up a valuable Royal Rumble match slot on a rivalry that is as uncompelling as this one, but they’re probably saving the big matches such as Ryback vs. Rusev for tomorrow’s edition of RAW. Nonetheless, The match still features some very talented athletes by Cesaro and Kofi Kingston, so any amount of time that we get to see those guys in the ring together will likely be magic. For everything else, snore…
Prediction: The New Day wins – While Cesaro, Kidd and Rose are busy arguing among themselves, The New Day keep their hopes of becoming a likeable stable alive by coming out with the victory.
