We brought you fanatix’s Premier League Team of the Year earlier this week.
Now, it is time to share with you our Young Team of the Year, which is made of entirely of Premier League players who are currently aged 21 or under…
Jak Alnwick (Newcastle United)
He is the only goalkeeper that played a Premier League game who is aged 21 or under, so Alnwick is an automatic pick. And, to be fair to the Newcastle stopper, he made an excellent debut, shining as a half-time sub in a 2-1 win over Chelsea. However, the Magpies failed to win any of the other five league matches in which he featured.
Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)
Mathieu Debuchy’s injury troubles and Bacary Sagna’s departure gave Bellerin his big chance, which he has grabbed with both hands. He will probably start ahead of a fit Debuchy on merit next season.
Luke Shaw (Manchester United)
Still has a long way to go to justify his huge transfer fee, but his performances have been pretty good.
John Stones (Everton)
It was a disappointing season for Everton overall, but the emergence of Stones was a massive plus point.
Calum Chambers (Arsenal)
Will he end up as a centre-half or a right-back? Either way, Chambers is set to become a fine defender for Arsenal and England.
