Iconic striker distances himself from Gunners rumours.
Paris Saint Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken out on the rumour that he almost signed for Arsenal as a teenager by saying that a deal was never close, the Guardian reports.

The ramous story states that Zlatan rejected a trial with the Gunners despite spending a short amount of time at Highbury whilst he was on the books with Malmo in his native Sweden.
And though he admitted that he rejected the chance to go through with a trial, he denied that a deal to take him to the club was close as is often reported.
“Today, Wenger says it was a misunderstanding. But I didn’t like being asked to prove myself,” he said.
“I know I’m good enough. I don’t need to show it to you. Either you know who I am or you don’t. I remember being in Wenger’s office and you could tell he was the boss. It was Wenger! But I don’t think I was so close [to signing]. I went to Ajax the next day.”
