The Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been part of the Formula One World Championship calendar since 2017. In 2016, a Formula One race was held on the streets of Baku City Circuit but under the European Grand Prix name. Daniel Ricciardo was the first-ever winner of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and Red Bull has the most race wins around Baku, with four to their name. The 2020 iteration of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in 2023 it was the first circuit to implement the new ‘sprint shootout’ format for the grid formation of sprint races.
Tickets for the Azerbaijan GP offer incredibly close views of the street circuit and are a popular choice among F1 fans. Grab your tickets for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from Fanatix.

Polesitter Charles Leclerc lost the lead to Oscar Piastri after the first round of pit stops and couldn’t match the pace of the McLaren driver. It was Piastri’s second win of the season, the first coming in Hungary. Piastri’s teammate, Lando Norris, recovered from P15 to finish P4, only five seconds off the podium. Championship leader Max Verstappen could do no better than P5. His teammate, Sergio Pérez, tangled with Carlos Sainz with two laps to go, causing them both to retire from the race. Franco Colapinto scored his first Formula One points, finishing P8 ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Oliver Bearman, who stood in for Kevin Magnussen due to a race ban earned at Monza earlier in the month.
