The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has been part of the Formula One World Championship since 2021. It’s the third-longest track on the current calendar, behind Spa and Las Vegas and is known as the ‘fastest street track’ due to average speeds of 160 mph. It joins the ever-growing list of races held at night and overlooks the Red Sea.
The event has caused controversy for ‘sportswashing’ a part of the world synonymous with poor human rights. In 2022, a missile attack took place just 10 miles from the circuit, targeting an Aramco oil depot, Aston Martin’s lead sponsor at the time.
Previous Grand Prix events in Saudi Arabia have had a star-studded list of entertainment, including performances from Travis Scott, Justin Bieber and Alicia Keys. If music and racing are your kind of thing, tickets for the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix are perfect.

Max Verstappen won from pole position ahead of his teammate and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who also secured the bonus point for fastest lap. This was Verstappen’s 100th podium. Lance Stroll crashed on Lap 7, bringing out the safety car and Kevin Magnussen accumulated 20 seconds of penalties. Magnussen knew he’d finish outside of the points with his penalty, so backed up the pack by driving slowly through the technical sections of the track to allow his teammate, Nico Hülkenberg, to score points. Oliver Bearman stood in for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari, who was recovering from appendicitis and finished P7 ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris.
